About the Artist

My Passion for Painting

One of my earliest memories as a little girl was staring up at two paintings hanging in my grandmother's house. Both were romantic and stunning, and it caused me to marvel at the talent it took to create such pieces of art. As it happens, it was my great-grandfather who painted these oils, and I am blessed to have them hanging in my home today. My appreciation for art continued throughout my life, and as I travelled, wherever I went, I exposed myself to great art - from the Uffizi in Florence to the Louvre in Paris to the Getty in SoCal. As much as I loved art, I didn't pick up my first paintbrush till 2017. I fell in love with the process and have been painting ever since.  Whether I paint a figure, a landscape or an abstract, I absolutely love the process of creating art. I am curious and always want to learn and grow, so I experiment with colour and techniques that will push my art to new levels.

I paint things that I love - whether it's figures, landscapes or abstracts. The process of putting down paint or discovering a new colour never gets old! I am always striving to grow in my art practice, so I do a lot of experimenting, scraping back, painting over, glazing, and drawing until I achieve something pleasing to me. This year, the word I've chosen for my art practice is BEYOND. I strive to reach beyond what I've already done and continue to push my art practice beyond what I think I can.  I'm setting aside my limiting beliefs and trusting that in doing so, I will grow beyond what I ever imagined.
